Patricia Holloway

Employment: NC Department of the Secretary of State - 14 years

Education: East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN

Accomplishments and Activities:

  • Currently is responsible for training Notary Public Instructors, UCC trainer, and consultant to local governments on real property indexing, notaries, and UCC filing.
  • Previously held the following positions: State and County Sales rep for Clerks of Court and Registers of Deeds computer systems and supplies; Land Records Management Consultant for the DEHNR and Department of the Secretary of State: Adminstrative Procedure Act Coordinator for DEHNR.
  • A resident of NC for 26 years.

Other:

  • Married to Jim Holloway, Assistant Attorney General Environmental Division.
  • One daughter, two stepsons, and two grandchildren.
  • Favorite Past times: Reading, gardening, traveling, and playing with her dog, Fletch.


JoAnn M. Morgan - Vice President

JoAnn Morgan

  • Assistant Register of Deeds for Buncombe County, North Carolina (24 Years)
  • Worked in the Register of Deeds Office 27 years.
  • City of Asheville 10 years and elected to the Asheville City Council in 1975.

  • Institute of Government - Chapel Hill, N.C.

Accomplishments and Activities:

  • Native of Buncombe County, North Carolina
  • Member Calvary Baptist Church - (currently serving as Secretary of the Church Personnel Committee)
  • Notary Instructor at Asheville Buncombe Technical Community College (22 years)
  • Charter member of the N.C. Notary Public Association - served as Recording Secretary of the Association.
  • Current member of International Association of Clerks, Recorders, Election Officials & Treasurers. (IACREOT)
  • Past Lt. Governor for Kiwanis International, Carolina District One
  • Past President of Democratic Women of Buncombe County
  • Currently serving as 1st Vice Chair of the Buncombe County Democratic Party

Education: Williams Township High School and Miller Motte Business College

  • Certified Notary Instructor
  • Served 39 years in the Columbus County Register of Deeds - 23 as Register of Deeds, 16 as Deputy Register of Deeds
  • Past President of NCARD for the year 1995-96
  • Selected as Outstanding Register of Deeds for 1995-96
  • Past President of Columbus County Legal Secretaries

Volunteer Activities:

  • First person from NC to become certified in the IACREOT Association
  • Past Treasurer of Columbus County Legal Secretaries
  • Past President of Southeastern NC Genealogical Society
  • Past Treasurer of the Columbus County Democratic Party
  • Member of Beaverdam Free Will Baptist Church where she has served as a teacher of Adult Sunday School Class and Adult Ladies Class

Education: Missouri Baptist Junior College, Missouri University, Atlantic Christian College and East Carolina University

  • Genealogy instructor since 1976
  • Written and published six books dealing with genealogical abstracts of the records of Wayne County, NC, Greene County, NC and Confederate Soldiers Burial Records
  • Past President of Wake County Genealogical Society
  • Organizing President of the Old Dobbs County Genealogical Society

Faye Senter - Treasurer

Faye Senter

Employment: Retired after 30 years with NC Division of Motor Vehicles

Education: Peace College

Accomplishments and Activities:

  • Notary instructor since 1986 for Wake and Durham Technical Community Colleges where she teaches both day and night classes
  • Served as Trainer with NCDMV for 20 years - Trained personnel for operating license plate agencies, financial institutions, law enforcement, car dealer seminars, and in-house personnel
  • Taught notary classes for NCDMV

Volunteer Activities:

  • Volunteer with the Special Olympics World Summer Games held in NC in 1999
  • Wake County Special Olympics working with bowling and spring athletic games
  • Volunteer NC Special Olympics
  • Past Hospitality Chairman for NC Special Olympics Summer Games
  • Currently Information Services Manager for upcoming Special Olympics Summer Games
  • Hobbies include: Reading, cross stitching, and traveling, wants to see the world
